The East Baton Rouge District Attorney's Office is charged with prosecuting all criminal cases occurring in the Parish of East Baton Rouge. Since much of Louisiana government is located in East Baton Rouge, the DA's office has had to pursue prosecutions in many different areas of criminal law, including instances of misconduct by public officials.

Services focus on the prosecution of: adult and juvenile crimes, sex crimes, child support, worthless checks, traffic tickets, pre-trial intervention, and appeals.
Victim assistance coordinators take part in informing, supporting, and accompanying victim through the criminal justice proceedings. They educate individuals and agencies regarding the needs and rights of victims as they establish and maintain effective working relationships with judges and attorneys. Victim assistance coordinators communicate effectively with victims, professionals, coworkers, and the general public.
